A celebration of delicious food, live music and fun, Taste is a fundraiser for Wellfield Botanic Gardens which attracts thousands of guests from our region each year. The event is put on with support from the Elkhart Rotary Club and hundreds of community volunteers. We could not do this without their generous support!

Taste of the Gardens returns to Wellfield Botanic Gardens!

A celebration of delicious food, live music and fun, Taste is a fundraiser for Wellfield Botanic Gardens which attracts thousands of guests from our region each year. The event is put on with support from the Elkhart Rotary Club and hundreds of community volunteers. We could not do this without their generous support!
Discounted admission tickets available now!
Through July 31, admission to the event is discounted to $12 for adults (regularly $15); children under 12 are free with paying adult. Tickets are available at the gate or online. Food and drink stickers are available for purchase at the gate, inside the venue or online/at our Cottage in advance. The event is held rain or shine.
It’s called Taste of the Gardens; restaurants are the heart of this event. Michiana restaurants have a unique opportunity to showcase their “best bites” at this event, and it’s your chance to try something new! Restaurants cater to many palates by offering a number of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options to please every palate. Restaurants received 100 % of their sales. Featured local restaurants, food trucks, and caterers prepare small plates of their favorite dishes and items ranging in price from 1-6 tickets. Guests can purchase food and drink stickers ($1 each) at the event or in advance. Judges will determine “Best Taste” winners in savory and sweet categories, and the public will decide on “Fan Favorite” savory and sweet food items, with winning restaurants awarded cash prizes. Navarre Catering & Events provides bars located around the Gardens serving soft drinks, wine and beer. To give you an idea of what you’re in for, here are 2023’s winning dishes!
Judge’s Best Bite-Savory: Essence Restaurant, Coppa Pork Steak with Pepperoni Fried Rice (Honorable mention: Corner Bar, Hotel Elkhart, Pickle Lady Flatbread)
Judge’s Best Bite-Sweet: Artisan, Olive Oil Cake with Peaches and Cream (Honorable mention: Essence Restaurant, Lemon-Blueberry Ice Cream Sandwich)
Fan Favorite-Savory: Bird in the Hand, Smashburger (Honorable mention: Essence Restaurant, Japanese Sweet Potatoes)
Fan Favorite-Sweet: Mini Delights Bake Shoppe, Key Lime Tart (Honorable mention: All Over Creations, French Beignets)
LIVE Entertainment Lineup:
11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. – Small Paul & the Remnants
1:45-3:15 p.m. – The Whistle Pigs
4-5:30 p.m. – The 1985 Band
