Tap Tap Evening Exploring the Sound & Sacred Dance of Haiti - At Indianapolis Public Library - Central Library

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 12/21/2024
Join us for an evening of fun and cultural immersion to learn about Haiti’s sacred music, dance, storytelling, poetry, Haitian folktales, and the Haitian culture. Whether you are Haitian or of Haitian descent, or simply have an interest in Haitian culture and would like to explore the vibrating sounds and soul, the sacred dance of Haiti, this event is your perfect match. "Tap Tap" refers to a type of private bus constructed by fashioning a piece of metal sheet over the flat bed of a small pickup truck. This "means of transport" plays a vital part of the transportation system and culture in Haiti. This event is free and open to the public and made possible by the Haitian Creole Program, the Indianapolis Public Library, and the Damien Center.
