Carmel Rotary Club
The Rotary Club of Carmel was founded in 1972 and celebrated 41 years of service on February 24. Carmel Rotary strives to represent the highest ideals of Rotary International through its service programs both at home and abroad. Our club contributes to local community projects and non-profits including Chaucie's Place, O'Connor House, Holiday Adopt a Family, and Gleaner's Back Sack program. Carmel Rotary presents and provides the leadership for CarmelFest, our community's annual 4th of July parade and celebration. We participate in the seasonal Carmel Farmers Market by selling water, drinks, and snow cones at the Rotary booth. We are involved in service projects around the globe. Six areas of major focus are: Peace and conflict prevention/resolution; Disease prevention and treatment; Water and sanitation; Maternal and child health; Basic Education and literacy; and Economic and community development. The primary focus of Rotary International and all clubs is the eradication of polio from the face of the earth. Carmel Rotary is active in the Youth Exchange Program, hosting incoming high school students from abroad and sponsoring outbound local high school students from our area to countries around the globe.
